You asked, we listened! On March 22nd from 2-6 pm in FNB, the FIMSSC, in collaboration with the Undergraduate Student Fund, The Dean’s Office and the Public Arts Committee will be hosting the first ever Media Arts Festival featuring creative projects submitted by our talented FIMS Community.
As a highly theoretical program we don’t always get the opportunity to share our creative endeavours with our peers – but that doesn’t mean we aren’t pursuing them and it certainly doesn’t mean they are unrelated to the curriculum we are learning in the classroom. We are thinkers, we are makers and we are creatives. It’s about time we got a platform to show all that off.
The festival will feature a range of creative projects and interactive activities from photography exhibitions to film screenings and embroidery lessons to screen printing demonstrations. Keep an eye on the facebook page for spotlights on some of the fantastic projects that will be featured at this years festival!
The event is drop in, with some scheduled time blocks such as film screenings launching at 3pm and an academic essay conference starting at 5pm. Beyond that, feel free to come in and out as you please – grab a table and study while surrounded by something other than weldon’s grey walls, or enjoy some free coffee and snacks between classes.
Come out and share in all the talent FIMS has to offer – after all, this event is for YOU.
